Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma
UC Health affiliated clinical locations
The purpose of this study is to determine the effects, good and/or bad, of the combination of low-dose whole brain radiation plus chemotherapy on you and your tumor compared with chemotherapy alone, to find out which is better. In this study, you will either get the experimental treatment (chemotherapy plus reduced-dose whole brain radiation) or chemotherapy alone.
There are two “arms” or treatments in this study. In arm 1, participants will receive chemotherapy alone. In arm 2, participants will receive the investigational treatment (chemotherapy plus reduced-dose whole brain radiation).
The study treatment for this study will last about 6-7 months. You will be seen in follow-up visits beginning 4 weeks after the start of cytarabine. You will be seen every 2 months for the first 2 years and every 6 months for the next 3 years..
About 89 people will take part in this study with about 8 of those being local.
Eligible patients must be at least 18 years old and have primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL).
